After 2 great years of un-seasonal sunshine the weather failed to cooperate this year.
Last minute scrambling moved the ride from the distant hills to Seattle’s Alki point and an abbreviated ride for an abbreviated group (five of us Eric, Alex, Sam, Pete, and I). We met in front of the Alki Tavern and rode along the waterfront to Pegusus for lunch. It was a fun ride and other than forgetting to tie down my coaster brake reaction arm, the purpose-built Daytonator performed without a hitch. The rain was light on the ride but the cold temperatures advanced a sore throat into a first rate head cold for me so this report is being posted a bit late.

The Daytonator the Day After

As for the future...

The 10 day forecast is still calling for unremitting rain so the soonest regrouping to tackle the Snoqualmie trail will be at least two weeks out. If we don’t get a good weekend forecast before the end of November then I will look into calling for and promoting a spring 2009 date for the ride.

Do you know of any bicycle swap meets in the Tacoma area? I am interested in building and riding fat tire cruiser bikes. I hope to join you on your next outing.
